This is the first illustration for a mini-comic that Im producing entitled 'The Gruesome End of Baron Spolasco,' for the 6th annual Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade. It is being published by Cork Community Art Link and based on the 19th Century quack doctor Baron Spolasco who occupied the streets of Cork City in the early 1800s. More exciting news in relation to this project will be released in due course!

Id also like to take this opportunity to thank all the young illustrators that turned up for my Culture Night illustration workshop in the Cork Vision Centre. I especially enjoyed the groups rendering of a vampire Batman eating ice-cream in the park!

Hi there. The life of Baron Spolasco is covered in my 2009 book 'Foul Deeds and Suspicious Deaths Around Swansea'.

You may know that he spent several years in Swansea (late 1830s/early 1840s) died in New York in 1858, was fairly elderly and did not - as far as I know - suffer a 'gruesome' death? I think it was more old age?
