Thomas Crofton Croker was a 19th Century Cork antiquarian and writer. He spent his life researching and writing about Irish folklore. His most famous work, Fairy Legends and Traditions of the South of Ireland was translated into German by the Brothers Grimm. Thomas Crofton Croker lived in Buckingham Place, Cork City.

This is an illustration that I was recently commissioned to produce for Storm Light, a County Cork based Film and Television production company. The illustration depicts a mad Moscow scientist and a robotic chap celebrating. The illustration is to be used in an upcoming multimedia project. The shortlist for the 'Cork's Favourite Book' award was unveiled yesterday at the Cork World Book Festival. Im very proud to have my book shortlisted with so many great books in different literary genre's. It was a real honour yesterday to do a very short reading from Ghost of Shandon at the official unveiling of the shortlist by Cork City Lord Mayor John Buttimer.

This is the character design for the Banshee Clíodhna, the second confirmed character from the Ghost of Shandon sequel. She hails from Glandore Bay in South County Cork, where it is she drowned and died in a previous life and lived on as a Banshee. To this day, the tide in Glandore Bay is known as 'Clíodhna's Wave.' Interestingly there are also past references to her having a fairy dwelling in North County Cork at one stage. Close to the town of Mallow, under the rocks of the hill Carraigcleena.

Its a Ballyhoura Mountain Monster based loosely on creatures described in ancient Irish folklore. The Ballyhoura mountains are located between County Cork and County Limerick. The Vampire King of Ireland is taking shape nicely and more character designs will be posted in the coming weeks.

I was recently asked by Mahon Point to judge their Primary Schools Art competition. It was a great honor to judge the competition. The artwork on show was tremendous. The winning class was 1st Class at Scoil na Croise Naofa. I chose this particular egg for its design, colourful choice of colours and attention to detail on both sides of the piece. Runners up prizes were awarded to Gael Scoil Mhachan, St. Paul's Cope Foundation, North Pres NS and Holy Cross Mahon. Congratulations to all!
