Here is the last drawing I will do of 2010 and to be perfectly honest Im glad to see the back of this year and say hello to 2011! The image is of Ronan and his dad celebrating a birthday!
Ok my book will have 51 illustrations. I have today finished 1! Here is Ardnakinna Lighthouse in Castletownbere... just 50 to go! Well today I finished off my dummy book for my new story. It will be 24 pages in length and consist of more than 51 different illustrations.... I better get started! And here is the cover coloured in time for Christmas. The type is in Irish and Im happy with the autumnal colours. I just need to clean up a few bits and pieces but this is pretty much how it looks! Here is the pencil for a cover for my new story! It should be painted and ready for Christmas Eve! The image is of Aisling and Ronan feeding crows under the shadow of Shandon tower. Here is the painted version of my other main character, Ronan Lavitt. He is 8-9 years of age and hails from Castletownbere! Here are two designs I have drawn out today. One is a character profile for my main character Ronan and the second is an image of Aisling feeding crows. I will be painting these in oil now and scanning in the results tomorrow morning! My PGDE course has finally stopped for Christmas and Im back at the drawing table at long last! Here is my first proper scene sketch for my new book. At the moment it is still merely a sketch, however I hope to experiment with colour and in oil paints in particular. Im looking forward to seeing how I can juxtapose the modern world with the 18th century world in a single illustration! |
